Catnic box lintel installation at Marden Homes

Due for completion in Spring 2014, a stylish new residential development by Marden Homes has utilised Catnic steel lintels to construct and refurbish over a dozen executive style apartments in Essex. Catnic lintels were selected for their strength, reliability and ease of installation.

Richmond Avenue, South Benfleet in Essex is an enclave of 8 refurbished and 6 new build apartments by Marden Homes, a company concentrating on the upper end of the housing market. The traditionally constructed dwellings offer two-bedroom accommodation, private communal gardens, plus two allocated parking spaces, all built to a very high specification.

The development required over 45 Catnic lintels - varying in quantity and size depending on layout – all of which were supplied through the Southend-on-Sea branch of Jewson.

Catnic lintels are manufactured from hot-dipped galvanized steel. The unique Duplex corrosion protection is achieved through a coating of thermal setting polyester powder, applied by an electrostatic process. High temperature curing then produces a tough durable surface to enable the product to be highly resistant to impact, abrasion and damage; this enables ease of on-site handling with no risk of damage.

All of Catnic's lintels have gained the approval of the regulatory authorities both in the domestic and international market assuring designers, specifiers and builders the high quality of the product. They are designed, manufactured and tested in accordance with BS EN 845-2:2003 and are certified by the British Board of Agrément.
