Ultrapanel’s demonstration house (The Ultra Home) required a set of partners that shared a vision for creating homes built for the future. Catnic Urban’s standing seam roofing and cladding product was used for the roof covering, providing a sleek, modern finish, whilst boasting strong sustainability credentials and speedy install times.
Speedy and sustainable
The Ultra Home set out to achieve speedy build times and Catnic Urban allows developers to achieve just that.
The Catnic Urban standing seam panels are manufactured with pre-formed seams, enabling a straightforward snap-lock style installation that significantly reduces install time. Seven times lighter than traditional roof tiles, the panels are lightweight, making them easy to handle, allowing contractors to move and position them with minimal effort. These efficiencies help to accelerate build times - two installers can fit up to 400m² of Catnic Urban per day!
Sustainability was an equally important target for the Ultra Home, they needed products that had the credentials to back up the claims.
The Catnic Urban panel is 100% recyclable, with zero de-gradation in the material’s properties when recycled, unlike nearly all other construction materials. We also achieve BES 6001 for responsible sourcing. BES 6001 delivers a method for us to benchmark and show we are continuously improving our sustainability credentials. We have ensured Catnic Urban standing seam roofing and cladding has been certified to this standard so you can rest assured when specifying and installing this sustainable product you will maximise the potential for obtaining credits under the Responsible Sourcing of Materials sections of BREEAM.
Catnic Urban standing seam is also available with Catnic SolarSeam® – a flexible solar laminate that is factory bonded to the profile. Catnic SolarSeam® is manufactured in the UK, reducing its carbon impact and ensuring ethical practice.

Tailored to Perfection
We aim to give all our customers a smooth and efficient experience and so, each project is assigned a dedicated scheduler and sales manager who are on-hand for phone calls and email exchanges and this was no different. The scheduler, Hannah McGibbon, became familiar with the project before producing a full bill of materials and with our standard details keeping things simple, it was an easy sign off for the Ultrapanel team.
From a manufacturing perspective, we operate with a tailored approach for every order. Each project is made to measure to support a hassle free installation, removing the need for cutting and seaming on site. This was welcomed by the Ultrapanel team who were looking to build ‘a house in a day’.
