Sustainability in Our Products and Operations
Sustainability is embedded into every part of Catnic’s business. Our long‑term investment in research and development has positioned us at the forefront of steel solutions for the residential sector, designing products that improve the energy efficiency of homes while maintaining the quality and reliability customers have trusted since 1969.
We recognise that our day‑to‑day operations have an impact on the environment. That’s why we are committed to continually improving our environmental performance, preventing pollution, and supporting government policy for sustainable development. This commitment runs through both our manufacturing processes and the products we bring to market.
Innovation that Drives Energy Efficiency
Catnic’s Thermally Broken Lintels (TBL) are the only steel lintel solution on the market with no brackets, providing a complete thermal break between the inner and outer leaf. This design delivers industry‑leading linear thermal transmittance (Psi) values of 0.02 to 0.05 W/mK, independently verified by the Building Research Establishment.
The TBL range consistently meets the performance criteria of Appendix Q in SAP 2012, supporting straightforward compliance with Part L of the Building Regulations and helping designers achieve improved thermal performance without over‑engineering other elements of the building fabric.
A Responsible and Compliant Manufacturer
Catnic ensures full compliance with all relevant local, national, and international legislation and regulations. The business also actively works towards Tata Steel’s international safety rating system and holds one of the highest scores among Tata Steel manufacturing sites in the UK.
