RIB21
- Fastens by wire tying to steel/rebar or by nailing to timber supports.
- Fixed with the ribs running horizontally or vertically and supported at right angles.
- Ensure 21mm ribs point into the area being prepared for the concrete pour.
- Apply the same concrete cover as the rebar.
- Achieve cover zones by using timber strip at top and bottom edges.
- Join adjacent sheets by nesting outer ribs and wire tying.
- Support and overlap end on end sheets by a minimum of 50mm.
- Fix overlapping sheets of RIB21 by wire tying sheets tightly together in order to reduce the gap between the sheets.
Concrete details
- RIB21 can be used with most grades of concrete.
- Pour concrete 500mm away from RIB21.
- Vibrating pokers should be used 450mm away from RIB21 and operated until concrete begins to bleed through mesh profile.
- Monitor pour carefully and operate bursts of 5-10 seconds in instances where poker is closer than 450mm.
- Remove excess grout, taking care not to disturb the concrete RIB21 face.
Note: All temporary works must be designed by a competent engineer.
